A Kite For Quetzal is the second segment of the thirteenth episode of the first season of Dragon Tales.

Summary[]

Quetzal is sick with a cold on the day of the kite flying. So to surprise him, the dragons and kids decide to make a kite of their own.

Emmy: [they hear Quetzal coughing. He’s apparently looking under the weather as he’s got an ice pack over his head and is wrapped in a blanket.] Quetzal?
Quetzal: [coughs] Don’t come too close, niños.…
Cassie: [concerned] What’s wrong, Quetzal?
Quetzal: I have a co.…co.….AHT-CHOO!!!!!!
Max: WHOA!!!
Emmy: That’s a BAD cold!
Zak: A cold?! That means germs.…!! And I’ll get sick and I’ll have a temperature! And my Mom will make me stay in bed and take…[groans] YUCKY MEDICINE!!! [he puts on a cloth over his nose and mouth like a doctor’s mask]
Wheezie: OH, BROTHER!!! [Ord simply shakes his head in agreement, as he too had his share of Zak’s constant worrying for as long as he can remember]
Emmy: When I have a cold, my mom makes me sopa de pollo.
Quetzal: Sí. Chicken soup. [Takes a sip of chicken soup from a cup.] My mother too. [coughs and sniffles] Ugh. I’m sorry, niños…but I’m just not feeling well enough to help you make a kite today.

Goofs[]

When Cassie tells the others to look at her kite (cut-out), the green lines briefly turn red-orange.

Notes and Trivia[]

Moral: It's important to plan.
This is the first time where everyone gets the exact same supplies when trying to plan something. The second time would be in "The Big Cake Mix-Up."
When the gang starts planning a kite, Max calls the blue crayon, but he gets a red one. It is Emmy who has the blue one. It is strange because red is Emmy's favorite color.
At one point, Ord carries both children, but he doesn't carry them on his back as usual. Instead, he carries Emmy on his right arm and Max on his left.
