Dialogue[]

  • [The kids are in the playroom. Emmy is sitting on the ledge by the window, holding a flashlight.]
  • Emmy: Hurry, Max. We get to be the spotlights for the big show in Dragon Land.
  • [Max nods while he’s looking for his flashlight in the toy chest. He struggles to get it out, but when he does, the string that’s on it accidentally tears off the arm of one of the dolls in the box.]
  • Max: Uh-oh! I broke Emmy’s doll.
  • Emmy: Max!
  • Max: Huh?
  • Emmy: Are you ready?
  • [Max puts everything back in the toy chest, trying to cover up what he did. He then closes the chest and joins Emmy with the scale.]
  • Emmy and Max: I wish, I wish with all my heart, to fly with dragons in a land apart.
  • [The scale starts glowing, and the dragons start flying around Max and Emmy, and then it takes them to Dragon Land]
  • Max: Come on, Em. Don’t you want a muffin?
  • Emmy: Wait a sec, Max.
  • [Emmy goes over to Wheezie’s trumpet and picks it up.]
  • Emmy: I wish I could play trumpet like Wheezie.
  • [Emmy blows into the trumpet.]
  • Max: Emmy! The dragonberry muffins will be all gone.
  • [The dragons are eating over by the snack cart. Emmy keeps pretending to play the trumpet.]
  • Emmy: I just love trumpets! They’re so…….
  • [But by accident, Emmy drops the trumpet on the ground and falls on it, breaking it.]
  • Emmy: Oh, no! I broke it!
  • Max: Oh, boy! Is Wheezie going to be mad.
  • Emmy: Max, don’t tell her! If she finds out I broke her trumpet, Wheezie won’t like me anymore.
  • [The dragons start coming back to the stage.]
  • Max: Uh-oh. Here she comes.
  • Wheezie: [sad] Now I won’t be able to play in the show.
  • Cassie: But you’re the leader of the band, Wheezie.
  • Ord: Without you I won’t know when to drum, and if I don’t know when to drum, Zak won’t know when to blow his flute, and if he doesn’t know when to blow, Cassie won’t know when to ring her triangle and if Cassie doesn’t know when to ring it then she’ll never finish the song! Oh, we have to find that trumpet.
  • Max: Emmy knows.
  • Dragons: You do?
  • [Emmy glares at Max, who then glares back at her.]
  • Emmy: What Max means is, uh, I know who might be able to help you find it. Uh……Quetzal.
  • Cassie: That’s a great idea!
  • Ord: Let’s go ask him.
  • [The dragons go over to Quetzal, leaving the kids alone, and Emmy feeling ashamed.]
  • Emmy: I’ve ruined the show. What am I going to do, Max?
  • Max: Tell Wheezie.
  • Emmy: But if she finds out I broke her trumpet, she’ll be mad at me and she won’t want to be my friend anymore.
  • [She then gets an idea.]
  • Emmy: Maybe I can fix it! So that she’ll never find out!
  • [Emmy retrieves the trumpet from the potted plant and sets it on the ground to fix it. Max grabs the mouthpiece and blows into it. Emmy puts the mouthpiece back on.]
  • Emmy: There.
  • [One of the springs of the keys comes loose and pops out. Max begins to laugh at this.]
  • Wheezie: [offscreen] Zak lost it somewhere near there!
  • Max: Uh oh!
  • Ord: What happened to your trumpet?
  • Wheezie: [Mad at Zak] I asked you to be careful with it, and you weren’t! Now look at it! It’s ruined! And it’s all your fault!
  • Zak: But Wheezie—
  • Wheezie: [lamenting] My poor little trumpet. [Angry] Don’t talk to me ever again! And don’t follow me either!
  • Zak: Whoa!
  • [Wheezie drags Zak offstage.]
  • Ord: What are we going to do?
  • Cassie: We better tell Quetzal.
  • [Ord and Cassie go over to Quetzal.]
  • Emmy: Wheezie’s mad at Zak for something I did. I feel really bad.
  • Max: So just tell her.
  • Emmy: I just can’t. But maybe Cassie can tell her for me. Come on, Max.
  • [Max just shakes his head.]
  • Emmy: Pssst!
  • Cassie: What is it, Emmy?
  • Emmy: [quietly] I have to tell you something, Cassie. Something huge! [Loudly] I broke Wheezie’s trumpet!
  • Cassie: You did?
  • [Emmy nods]
  • Cassie: Why didn’t you tell her?
  • Emmy: I wanted to, but I was afraid she wouldn’t like me anymore. So I was thinking that, well, maybe you could tell her for me.
  • Cassie: Me?
  • Emmy: Only, you can’t tell her I did it. Just that Zak didn’t.
  • Cassie: I don’t know if that’s such a good idea, Emmy.
  • [Max folds his arms.]
  • Max: It’s a stinky idea.
  • Emmy: Please Cassie?
  • Cassie: [unsure] Well……….
  • Emmy: Thanks Cas! You’re the best!
  • [Emmy hugs her and Cassie, reluctantly, goes over to Zak and Wheezie, who are sitting on a rock with Wheezie still angry at Zak.]
  • Zak: Please, Wheezie. You just gotta listen to me.
  • Cassie: Uh, Wheezie?
  • Wheezie: [still mad] If you’re going to ask me to forgive my brother, forget it!
  • Cassie: But Zak didn’t break your trumpet.
  • Zak: I didn’t? I mean, I told you I didn’t, Wheezie.
  • Wheezie: Then who did?!
  • Cassie: I… can’t say.
  • Zak: Why not?
  • Wheezie: Because it was YOU, Cassie! Right?!
  • Cassie: Yes! I mean no! I mean... [crying] I didn’t do it!
  • [Cassie runs away crying. Max and Emmy are hiding in a nearby bush]
  • Cassie: Thanks a lot, Emmy! Now Wheezie will never speak to me again! And I didn’t do anything!
  • [With Cassie still crying, Max decides to take matters into his own hands.]
  • Max: We better tell Quetzal.
  • Emmy: Max! Wait!
  • [The kids run over to Quetzal.]
  • Max: [panting] Emmy’s in big trouble because she wouldn’t tell!
  • Quetzal: Tell what, Emmy?
  • Emmy: [nervous] Uhhh…..a story! I mean, I need to ask you a question, Quetzal and I, uh, have to tell you a story to do it.
  • Quetzal: I see. I think.
  • Emmy: Well, um, there’s this little mouse with a ribbon in her hair.
  • [Quetzal notices the red ribbon in Emmy’s ponytail.]
  • Quetzal: .
  • Emmy: And, uh, she accidentally broke something that belonged to…….a two-headed turtle.
  • [Quetzal then spots Zak, Wheezie and Cassie in the distance.]
  • Quetzal: , go on.
  • Emmy: And well, the little mouse didn’t know how to tell the two-headed turtle what she did. What should she have done, Quetzal?
  • Quetzal: Well, if I were that little mouse with a red ribbon in my hair, I would have stood up straight, taken a deep breath, and told Wheezie that I broke her trumpet.
  • Emmy: [surprised] Huh? How did you know?
  • [Emmy glares angrily at Max]
  • Max: I didn’t tell him.
  • Quetzal: It’s not important how I knew. What is important is what you’re going to do about it.
  • Emmy: I guess if a friend broke something of mine, I’d want them to tell me.
  • Ord: Tell you what?
  • [The others come by.]
  • Max: That she broke it.
  • Cassie: Who broke it?
  • Max: The little mouse.
  • Zak: Broke what?
  • Emmy: Your trumpet.
  • Wheezie: A little mouse broke my trumpet?
  • [Max starts laughing at that]
  • [Quetzal encourages Emmy to tell her.]
  • Emmy: Okay, I’m just gonna do it. [Takes a deep breath] I broke your trumpet, Wheezie! I thought you’d be mad at me, so I hid it. I tried to fix it, but that only made it worse. Then I asked Cassie to tell you and, well, that didn’t help either.
  • Wheezie: You should have just told me, Emmy. Then I wouldn’t have made Zak and Cassie feel bad. [To Zak and Cassie] Sorry.
  • Zak and Cassie: That’s okay, Wheezie.
  • Emmy: I’m the one who should say I’m sorry. I’ll bet no one wants to be my friend anymore.
  • Cassie: Of course we do.
  • Emmy: You do? What about you, Wheezie?
  • Wheezie: I’m really glad you told me, Emmy. Of course we’re still friends.
  • [Emmy and Wheezie hug]
  • Ord: We'll just have to play our song another time.
  • Quetzal: Maybe not, Ord. [Quetzal fixes Wheezie's trumpet with his magic]
  • Wheezie: My trumpet! You fixed it! For real!
  • Zak: Come on everyone, it's almost showtime!
  • [The dragons start playing their song perfectly, and Max and Emmy are in charge of the lights, and Cassie ends with her triangle, and the crowd starts applauding and cheering]
  • Emmy and Max: I wish, I wish to use this rhyme, to go back home, until next time.
  • [Once the kids arrive back home, Max remembers something from before.]
  • Max: Uh, Emmy? I have something to tell you.
  • Emmy: What’s wrong?
  • [Max goes over to the toy box and gets out the doll he broke earlier.]
  • Max: I broke your doll.
  • Emmy: Oh, that old thing? It’s always falling apart.
  • Max: You mean it was already broken, and you’re not mad at me?
  • Emmy: Definitely not.
  • Max: [smiling slyly] Good. Because remember your tea set?
  • Emmy: Max!
  • [Emmy chases after him with Max laughing as the episode ends.]
