This is the second episode to center on skating, the first being "A Feat On Her Feet" (except that episode is about roller-skating).
Although it was hard for Zak and Wheezie to learn to ice-skate, their badges don't glow from it.
It is also the second episode where Quetzal mentions his own need to learn certain motor skills, the first being "A Liking To Biking."
This is the fourth episode to have anything to do with anyone's birthday (the first three being "Ord's Unhappy Birthday," "A Picture's Worth A Thousand Words," and "Just Desserts," and the last two being "The Art of Patience" and "Feliz Cumpleaños, Enrique"), but the second both where the guest of honor is a male, is not a parent, and where he is shown in full, including his face (the guests of honor in "A Picture's Worth A Thousand Words" and "Just Desserts" are mothers whose heads are off-screen).
Willie's birthday song is set to the tune of "If You're Happy and You Know It."
