Ord (voiced by Ty Olsson) is the deuteragonist of Dragon Tales. He is a turquoise blue male dragon who is Max's best friend, as Ord always has him on his back, while Emmy rarely rides on him.

Ord is the large, strong, fast, blue Dragon Land inhabitant who is scared of many things, like the dark, thunder, bugs, etc. More than anything, Ord wishes he could be braver. Ord has a badge that lights up when he finds a way to overcome his fears - even if his courage is fleeting. Like any other dragon, Ord loves to fly. When Emmy or the other dragons want to encourage their big friend, they point out that he was once afraid of flying and now he's not. The one thing as big as Ord's heart is his appetite and he can almost always be distracted by food; his favorites are dragonberries. Ord loves his friends, especially Max, whom he affectionately calls "little buddy" as well as Emmy and Enrique. In a couple episodes such as "Stormy Weather" and "Just For Laughs", he is proven to be ticklish. When Ord feels scared, he turns invisible.

Physical Appearance

Ord is a turquoise blue dragon with purple spikes, wings, purple dots on the side, two sharp fangs showing, and has a pendant of a sun. He also is the only dragon on the show with curved claws. In Season 1, he was a darker blue. His skin color changed starting from Season 2.

Personality

Ord is easily frightened and a bit of a coward. Several episodes deal with him facing his fears. Among his fears are thunder, bugs, and the dark. However, he will overcome these fears to help others. In several episodes, it shows that Ord also has a problem with sharing, but learns his lesson afterwards.

He has a very big appetite and can often be seen pulling snacks out of his pouch.

• In Season 1, when Ord is scared of something or feels sad or bad, he sometimes turns invisible.
• Ord is scared of lots of things, including the dark, bugs, thunder, etc. However, he wishes he could be braver.
• Ord is similar to Eduardo from Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends, as he's also scared of spiders, the dark, and scary things despite being bigger than most of the dragons.
• He's the only dragon on the show who has all sharp teeth.
• His birthday lands on September 9; this is confirmed by a 2005 Dragon Tales calendar.
• He's allergic to the dandelions in the dandelion forest. The seeds that fall close to him will make him sneeze so powerful it makes them lose their seeds which makes the dandelions sad.
• Ord's mother is gigantic.
• Ord mentioned a sister in "The Big Cake Mix-Up," but it's unknown if she is older (though that may be implied) or younger than he is, or how much, nor is she mentioned by name. However, he mentions in "It Happened One Nightmare" that he has no brothers or sisters.
  • It possible Ord's sister is older and has already moved out at some point since Ord mentions her in the past tense. So when Ord mentioned that he didn't have any brothers or sisters, he likely meant he didn't have any siblings who still lived at home.
• Ord was originally the only dragon to be shown with a pouch, however, later on in Season 1, every dragon now has a pouch.
• Ord has only been absent in 2 episodes, while Cassie has been absent in 7 episodes and Zak and Wheezie have been absent in 9 episodes.
• Ord is the only dragon other than Zak and Wheezie to carry Enrique on his back (he did so in "A Small Victory").
• Although Ord is afraid of bugs, there have been many instances in the show where he hasn't shown fear towards them.:
  • During Shake Your Dragon Tail, he is seen letting a Jugglebug dance on his tail.
  • In "Goodbye Little Caterpoozle", he is seen enjoying playing with Cassie's pet Caterpoozle, Poozie. When Cassie believed Poozie had died, he along with everyone else said his goodbyes and tries to cheer Cassie up by finding a replacement pet.
  • In "A Liking To Biking, "A Feat On Her Feet" and "The Balancing Act", he wears a ladybug as a helmet.
  • In "Quibbling Siblings", he is impressed when the Jugglebug shows up for Zak's show and tell act.
  • In "To Do or Not to Do", Ord did not seem to mind Glimmer being around while he and the others (except Cassie) were stuck inside the dragonocerous. However this might be because Glimmer is a firefly and was able to help the gang see in the dark which is another one of Ord's fears.
