This is a transcript of the Dragon Tales episode "So Long Solo" from season two, which aired on September 12, 2001.

Dialogue[]

  • Emmy: Max, look what Abuelita sent me! It's a music box.
  • Max: I can't look right now, Emmy. I'm coloring a dragon in the coloring book she sent me.
  • Emmy: But listen to how beautiful it sounds. [singing] Twinkle, twinkle, little star, how I wonder what you are, up above the...
  • [Emmy accidentally bumps Max’s arm, causing him to draw a crayon streak across the page.]
  • Max: Emmy, look what you did!
  • Emmy: I'm sorry, Max. Really. But don't you want to dance, too?
  • Max: I want to color draw with my new crayons or...
  • Both: Go to Dragon Land!
  • Emmy: Come on!
  • Both: I wish, I wish, with all my heart, to fly with dragons, in a apart.
  • Max: Hi, everyone!
  • Wheezie: We have to get ready for the Twilight Talent Show tonight at Singing Springs. I'm playing the trumpet.
  • Zak: And I'm gonna ask a Juggle Bug to do some amazing juggling tricks with me. Well, as soon as I can find one.
  • Max: What's that, Zak?
  • Zak: It's my Juggle Bug Performing Stage. I worked really hard building the perfect little place for a Juggle Bug to juggle in. See? Here, use my magnifying glass.
  • Max: May I try the magnifying glass?
  • Zak: WHAT?
  • Emmy: He wants to see through your magnifying glass!
  • Zak: MY MAGICAL GAS?
  • Ord: YOUR MAGNIFYING GLASS!
  • Zak: Wheezie! You're playing too loudly. I can't hear a thing. I said can you please stop playing for a minute?
  • [Wheezie stops playing the trumpet.]
  • Wheezie: What is it, Zaky?
  • Zak: You're practicing so loud, that you're gonna scare away any Juggle Bug I might be able to find. They're afraid of loud noises.
  • Wheezie: But what about my solo? If I don't keep practicing, I'll never learn the music.
  • Zak: But with all the noise you're making, the Juggle Bug will never come out to try the new stage I made. See?
  • Wheezie: Loooooove it!
  • Max: Can I please see now?
  • Zak: Oh! Did you want to see?
  • Max: Cool!
  • Zak: All it needs now is a Juggle Bug.
  • Ord: So, let's go find one.
  • Zak: It's not as easy as it sounds! Juggle Bugs are a little shy and they get scared off by loud noises. So I need to be really careful when I get them to come out of hiding. I even brought some special corn, which they really like. But as long as Wheezie keeps making racket, I'll never be able to find a Juggle Bug.
  • Cassie: Maybe you two could both do things at once. Zak, you look for the Juggle Bug while Wheezie practices her trumpet really quietly.
  • Wheezie: Absolutey-tuti-fruity!
  • Zak: Oh boy, here we go.
  • [Wheezie clears her throat and plays her trumpet quietly while Zak places a trail of Dragon corn on the ground for the Juggle Bug. The Juggle Bug appears and picks up the corn kernels and arrives on Zak's Juggle Bug Performing Stage.]
  • Max: Hey! A Juggy Buggy.
  • Zak: Juggle Bug!
  • Max: Yeah, like that one.
  • Zak: Wheezie! No! Oh now look what you've done? He's gone.
  • Wheezie: Who's gone?
  • Zak: The Juggle Bug. He was on by stage until your loud music scared him away.
  • Wheezie: Oh no! I'm sorry.
  • Zak: It's no use.
  • Emmy: What about using the Alone Cone.
  • Wheezie: [gasps] Not the Alone Cone.
  • Max: I... I forgot what you do with that.
  • Wheezie: A two-headed dragon uses an Alone Cone when one head doesn't want to hear what the other head is saying.
  • Cassie: The cone should keep Wheezie's music from bothering Zak or any Juggle Bugs.
  • Max: Are you gonna put over Wheezie's head?
  • Zak: Not over her head, over her trumpet.
  • Wheezie: Well, okay. I'll try it just this once. A one a two and a one two three.
  • Ord: What is Wheezie doing?
  • Cassie: Is it supposed to sound like that?
  • Wheezie: No, it's not supposed to sound like that. I'm sorry, Zak. I try to make the cone work. I really did.
  • Zak: I know.
  • Wheezie: It's almost time for the Twilight Talent Show and I still haven't learned my song.
  • Zak: And I'm never gonna find a Juggle Bug. Never ever ever. Come on, Wheezie. We may as well go home.
  • Wheezie: Wait, I have an idea.
  • Emmy: What is it?
  • Wheezie: Zaky, what if you and I take turns helping each other?
  • Zak: Turns?
  • Wheezie: You're right. It's...
  • Zak: Genius!
  • Wheezie: It is?
  • Zak: Why didn't I think of it sooner? We could each practice what we need to do and help each other while we do it.
  • Wheezie: Loooooove it! You go first, let's find that Juggle Bug.
  • Zak: The best way to spy a Juggle Bug is to get down real real low like this then carefully put some corn and a little line so he can follow it. And most importantly don't make a noise.
  • Wheezie: Got it.
  • [The Juggle Bug returns while picking up the corn kernel on the ground and once again arrived at Zak's juggle gym.]
  • Wheezie: [quietly] It's working!
  • Zak: Hi little Juggle Bug! You like the juggle gym I built? You can use this little ramp to climb up to the podium like this. Do you think you can do it?
  • Wheezie: Wow your juggle gym really works.
  • Emmy: Good job, Zak.
  • Zak: Yeah, you mean good job, Juggle Bug. Will you perform with me tonight in the Twilight Talent Show? Thank you. Okay Wheezie, all set. Now it's your turn to practice.
  • Wheezie: But if I give my horn a blow, I'll scare away the Juggle Bug.
  • Zak: I have an idea. I don't want Wheezie's trumpet to scare you. So I'm putting you in the Alone Cone for a little while, okay? Good thinking, sis.
  • Wheezie: Right back at you, Zaky. Now would you please hold up my sheet music so I can learn the last part of the song?
  • Zak: You got it.
  • [Wheezie took out her music notes from her pouch, giving it to Zak and she started finishing the last part of her song with her trumpet.]
  • Zak: Now you're gettin' it. [Everyone cheers, then the wind comes and blows the music notes out of Zak's hand.] Yikes!
  • Wheezie: Oh, no! My music!
  • Zak: Cassie and Emmy, you go that way. Ord and Max, check over there.
  • Max: Yeah!
  • Zak: We'll go in that direction.
  • Ord: We have a page.
  • Cassie: Us too.
  • Zak: Here's one. No!
  • Wheezie: My music! It's sinking!
  • Zak: Oh, Wheezie, it's all my fault! I guess I wasn't holding the music tight enough.
  • Wheezie: It was an accident, Zak. It's okay. I know that there'll be other shows next year.
  • Zak: Can't you play a different song? You know hundreds.
  • Wheezie: I didn't bring any other music.
  • Zak: Well, if you're not gonna perform, then I'm not gonna perform.
  • Wheezie: Don't say that! You worked hard on your juggle gym, and I want you to show it off.
  • Zak: [smiling] Really?
  • Wheezie: [also smiling] Yeah!
  • [At that moment, their badges start glowing.]
  • Wheezie: Zak, look, our dragon badge!
  • Zak: Ha, it's glowing!
  • Wheezie: We must have really learned to...
  • Zak: ...work together!
  • Wheezie: Aw, Zaky!
  • Zak: Wait a minute? I know that song!
  • Ord: Me too.
  • Emmy: Me three.
  • Wheezie: It's my solo!
  • Max: Hey, maybe the Juggle Bug can teach Wheezie the rest of her song.
  • Zak: Uh, excuse me, Juggle Bug? Will you please sing us that song one more time? Just a little slower so Wheezie could follow you?
  • Cassie: The Twilight Bells are ringing. The show must be starting.
  • Ord: Com on, everyone.
  • Wheezie: Zaky, I have another idea!
  • Zak: What is it?
  • Emmy and Max: I wish, I wish, to use this rhyme, to go back home, until next time.
  • [The kids appear back in the playroom. Max goes back to his drawing and Emmy opens the music box, but then closes it briefly.]
  • Emmy: Too loud?
  • Max: Nah! I think I draw better when I sing.
  • Both: [singing] Twinkle, twinkle, little star...
