The Giant of Nod is the first segment of the seventh episode of the first season of Dragon Tales. In this episode, Zak and Wheezie in Dragon Land are about to become musical idols.

Summary[]

Zak and Wheezie practice for tonight's concert hosted by Quetzal at Singing Springs, but they bicker over various songs they wanted to play and disturb the nap of a twelve-inch creature known eponymously as "The Giant of Nod". He trapped them in a tree trunk, so it's up to them to save the gang so they can make it to the concert.

Memorable Quotes[]

Zak: Thank you. Thank you, one and all.
Wheezie: (bored yawning)
Emmy: Okay, your turn, Wheezie.
Wheezie: WHOA! Get ready to wiggle and jiggle!
(music with rap beat starts playing)
Wheezie: (rapping): I'm a singin' dragon and Wheezie is my name! Come on everyone and play my singin' game! Ah, ooh ooh ah, ooh ooh!

Goofs[]

  • When Max and Emmy fight over the firefighters hat, a splotch of white paint can be seen behind Max for a split second.
  • When the series was made available for Amazon Prime, it is titled Giant of Not.
  • Among belongings Ord scoops out trying to look for a snack while the gang are trapped is a #1 pool ball. The mistake is that the outer part is green. In billiards, that number ball is yellow, while it is the 6 ball and the stripe on the 14 ball that are green.

Notes and Trivia[]

  • Zak and Wheezie sing the lullaby "Rock-a-Bye Baby" in this episode. Wheezie sings loudly and Zak sings quietly.
  • Some of the scenes with the music notes are used for the show’s opening intro.
  • It is revealed here that Wheezie is the older twin because her head hatched from the egg three seconds before Zak's.
  • This is the first time someone other than Ord had their dragon badge glow. In this case, it's Zak and Wheezie.
  • This is the third episode where the dragons call the children to Dragon Land, the first two being "Knot a Problem" and "Zak's Song," but the second where any of the dragons hold the glowing scale as they wait, the first one, once again, being "Knot a Problem".
  • In this episode, "Rock-a-Bye Baby" is Zak and Wheezie's duet.
